Dr. Visit

I had to post this picture! I hardly ever get a cute close up.

We had our 9 month check up yesterday. Preston seems to be doing great. Weighed 21 lbs. 75 % and 30 1/4 inches long 90th % (which I am not sure is correct). He has never been above the 50th percentiles in height or weight. He is so hard to get still that we had a hard time measuring him. He had his toe pricked for iron count and his was a little low so she suggested that I be sure to feed him a meat everyday. After the toe prick he had a band aide on his toe. Well after we left and had gotten on the interstate I noticed he was chewing on something in the backseat.......he had the band aid in his mouth..... He is crazy! I had to pull the car over on the on ramp to get it out.

The Dr. was surprised to see him walk. She said he is really early and just to beware. (She did have the I feel sorry for you look on her face:) He is just so busy and begs to have those feet on the ground.

9 Months Old

He kept climbing out of his chair while I was trying to get his 9 month picture. I thought this one was really cute!
9 Month old sitting in his big boy chair. This is the only picture I got of him actually sitting still in the chair. He kept pushing foward and one time he took off walking.
Maybe he will crawl one of these days. This is about as far as he goes. (Not that he can't get where he wants to go:) He just prefers walking.....

I found him sitting up in his bed on Thursday after his nap. I watched him for about 10 minutes play and keep sitting up like he had been doing it for months. Once they learn something they don't seem to forget. (he has he biggest eyes sometimes!!)

Well we just returned from our annual trip to Fl. We had a wonderful time. It seems like so much happened with Preston while we were there. He turned 9 months old and boom he is off. He will let go and walk to someone standing a few feet away. He ALWAYS wants to be on those feet. He is still not crawling..... but I think he will walk soon. Big Brent found him sitting up in his pack n play while we were there. I haven't seen that one yet:) He now has 5 teeth and 2 on the way. We can see them coming.

I don't know which is better having to walk him around 24*7 breaking my back or chasing him around soon. Either way it is fun watching him grow and get more personality everyday.

He like the sand okay while we were at the beach but combined with sun, being wet and tired it wasn't a good combo. We spend lots of time at the pool and kid pool. While he was napping Big Brent took care of him indoors.

Becky bought Preston a baby pool that we put under the tent. He may have sat in it 3 minutes per day:)

Gina and Emmanuel flew in a few weeks ago to visit! We love having them back in Nashville. They are originally from Haiti but now live in Florida. Emmanuel went to camp this week while Gina hung out with us. We are sad that they are leaving tomorrow:( It is so funny to watch how good they are with Preston. I will miss having them here.

Sorry for the drought but we are back! Josh bought me a new camera and I have gone crazy with it. The first night he gave it to me I took over 100 pictures! So much is happening and we have been so busy.

Preston is almost nine months old. He is so crazy! We just laugh at how busy he is ALL the time. He is still not crawling but if he can get hold of anyones hands he is off. He wants to walk everywhere and begs to do it. He can even hold onto the walker now and do it himself for a short time. We bought him a walker that he sits in and he is all over the house. It is funny to watch how fast he can go! As you can see in the pictures he is teething big time. They just keep coming.

As I was shopping for some teething meds the woman who works at Walgreens told me a trick that her grandmother and mother both used. She claims if you take an egg put it in one of your child's socks and hang it above their bed that they will have no trouble teething....... She said to leave the egg until the baby is done. Sounds crazy hun? No one I have talked to has ever heard of anything like this. Let me know if you have! I am going to try it and just see:) I will try anything once!
